Graphic design process

Are you wondering how the creative process of our graphic designs takes place?

Here is the summary as seen by one of our sketchers:

  1. Receiving the image

It all starts with an idea or thesis that needs to be illustrated. This can come from my head, or from the client I'm working for.

  1. Drawing of the structure

Once the idea is clear in my mind, I make a quick sketch to define the structure of the image with basic shapes and lines, as well as its main elements.

  1. Base color

During this stage, I add color to the sketch with flat tints and gradients using a mix of digital and traditional media. This process is very important because it helps me visualize the final result before I start working on it.

  1. Coloring

In this step, I define the main colors of each element and adjust their hue, saturation, and brightness until together they create a good composition.

  1. Deleting lines

Once I'm happy with how the whole thing looks, I delete all the lines from my sketch which removes them without affecting the underlying base colors.

  1. Titles and textures

I then start adding details and textures to highlight certain aspects of the design, such as an old vintage look or a more modern one, depending on what best suits the image I want to give and I add the title at the client's request in a font that harmonizes with the whole.
